Dr. Gabriel Young

A native Floridian, Dr. Gabriel Young took a decidedly international route to veterinary medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology before attending veterinary school in New Zealand.

After completing his veterinary degree in 2008, Dr. Young worked as a small-animal veterinary surgeon in Maui, Colorado, New Zealand, Australia, Bahrain, and Qatar. He also volunteered his veterinary skills in the Cook Islands, Samoa, and Fiji. That range of experience helped shape a broad, practical perspective on medicine and an openness to looking at difficult cases from more than one angle.

Dr. Young has a particular interest in surgery, but he also enjoys the problem-solving involved in a challenging medical case. His approach with clients is direct and straightforward. He takes the time to explain what he sees, what he recommends, and why, so you can make informed decisions about your pet's care.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Young is an avid surfer, enjoys playing the drums and traveling, and values time with his family.
